Walking up the stairs towards the restored 1924 façade of the 5-star Park Hyatt Mendoza one can still feel the grandure of the Argentina of the 1920s. The former Plaza Hotel was aquired by Hyatt Hotels, the front of the building was restored, and a new hotel with 186 rooms reopened in 2001. Located right on the central Plaza Independencia it is Mendoza's best address, with a great view of the Andes mountain range from the rooms in the western wing.
